A security incident means that an event causes or has caused damage to our information systems .
All risks that could cause our information system to be at risk, as well as the suspicion thereof, belong here in the broadest sense of the word.

What is a security incident?
It may involve (whether internal or external, analog or digital) burglary/theft in/out of building, closet, car (including private, when in any way involving the municipality), threats, violence, harassment, unauthorized access to systems, data, applications or buildings, dangerous work situations, arson leakage of sensitive information, fraud by employee or customer, loss of documents from records, errors in applications, messaging or caused by administrator or user, network failures, incorrect data releases, improper application of applicable procedures, prolonged absence of CISO and disruptions to business operations.

When potentially privacy-sensitive data is involved we refer to it as a data breach.

What is a data breach? 

Privacy-sensitive data is any data that can be traced to an identified or identifiable natural person. In the broadest sense of the meaning.

Examples of data breaches include: Unauthorized photo or video footage of individuals, GPS tracking, BSN, misdirected email, email addresses, medical data, personnel records, sexual preference, religious beliefs, misdirected letter, a letter from social services, where that is visible in the window of an envelope, a conversation that can be overheard by unauthorized third parties, including co-workers, forgetting data at a printer or unauthorized access to files in a mailbox, a lost mobile device or data carrier, cookies on a website, etc.... etc... etc... etc...
