Farmers' lunch: strong together for a vital rural area

On Wednesday, November 26, the first "farmers' lunch" in Leudal took place. More than 40 entrepreneurs went to BerryBrothers in Roggel to talk with representatives of the Platform Safe Entrepreneurship, the police, BOAs and Mayor Schmalschläger about safety in the outlying area.

Joint task

The purpose of the lunch was to meet in an approachable way, get to know each other and hear what is going on in the outlying area. Mayor Désirée Schmalschläger:

Safety and thus the vitality of our outdoor area is a joint task. That is why we work constructively with entrepreneurs and residents. They know what is going on.

This farmers' luncheon is a follow-up to previous meetings such as the "Kiek-Oet" awareness nights for business owners and the 2024 Safety Afternoon.

'Farmer's sense' campaign kick-off

The meeting also launched the "Farmer's Insight" campaign. An initiative that helps agricultural entrepreneurs to be resilient against criminal interference. By participating in this and hanging up a special sign visibly, entrepreneurs show that they are alert. These companies are then visited at least once a year by the neighborhood police officer. Interested entrepreneurs can register with the Platform Veilig Ondernemen (PVO-Limburg) at info@pvo-limburg.nl.

Reporting it always helps!
